Casting Machine for Titanium TITEC F205M


The casting machine TITEC® by OROTIG works completely automatically, controlling the fundamental parameters that are required for a perfect cast. The internal logic determines: the regulation of the vacuum, the saturation level and the over-pressure of the argon, the period over which the current is supplied to the arc, and the moment at which the chamber is inverted. The melted metal is only poured into the mould if all the conditions are perfect: this way one creates the necessary basis for obtaining constant results.

From the evolution of the previous two-chamber model, in which melting and casting occurred in separate chambers, an innovation in melting and casting of titanium was born. The single-chamber system (patented by OROTIG) permits to optimize the characteristics of melting under pressure for casting titanium.

This new single chamber configuration allows to melt the titanium in close vicinity of the casting cylinder, which results in very short transfer times of the melted titanium from the copper crucible to the mould. The mass of liquid metal is kept hotter and more compact this way, and it allows for much faster casting times. These characteristics lead to a very accurate reproduction of the details of the model and it simplifies the techniques that are used by the technician.

With the same single chamber configuration it is possible to cast chrome-cobalt as well, by substituting only the crucible.

  • The melted titanium is very close to the inlet of the casting cylinder
  • The transfer time of the melted titanium from the crucible to the casting cylinder is very short, which keeps the mass of titanium nicely compact
  • The titanium looses less heat and is injected into the casting cylinder at a higher temperature
  • Double pressure valve for an injection of titanium which is almost instantaneous
  • Very accurate reproduction of the edges of the model
  • Simple operation of loading and positioning of the casting cylinder inside the casting machine
  • Double check of the vacuum level by the use of an analog device for low vacuum levels and a Pirani probe for verifying the high vacuum
  • Casting cycle which is completely automatic
  • Simpler laboratory technique
