OROTIG Srl is the company that since 1993 takes care of
the realization and commercialization of the products TITEC® by OROTIG, a complete system for casting and welding
titanium for dentistry applications.
OROTIG has been founded with the objective of realizing the technologies
needed for using the only metal that is considered to be compatible with the
human body today. Titanium is a relative new material. It was only in 1795 that
the mineral RUTILE was recognized by KLAPROTH as being
the oxide of this element. Only recently, titanium is being processed as pure
metal with a specific weight of 4,5 gr/cm³ and a melting point of about 1700°C.
Various alloys of titanium are being used in the aviation industry, for the
construction of missiles, and in the chemical industry. Titanium is used in
medicine since many years for its excellent characteristics.
Especially for dentistry applications the BIOLOGICAL COMPATIBILITY,
and ANTI-CORROSION properties, its NEUTRAL TASTE,
its LOW SPECIFIC WEIGHT and LOW THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY,
its being GALVANICALLY NEUTRAL, and its TRANSPARENCE
FOR X-RAYS are much appreciated.
The use of titanium in dentistry was limited so far by its high reactivity when
working at very high temperatures. This means that in addition to the
difficulties of obtaining compact casts without porosity, there is the extra
problem of avoiding pollution of the material during casting, which would ruin
the excellent properties of the titanium.

OROTIG was found in a little but functional workshop and it developed a unique world wide system able to rival without any fear with major
industrial companies of the same working-area.
Orotig showed that enthusiasm, passion, and fantasy, can lead to overwhelm the results of huge companies: so after 5 years of experience and four prototypes the TITEC® by OROTIG system was born.

OROTIG
has kept a decisive role in the development of the complete system for
casting and welding titanium.
After
experiments on the technique, the methods, and the construction of various
prototypes, OROTIG has taken care of the complete planning and design
and the actual commercialization of the technique.

The
construction of some parts is done in external workshops that are
constantly supervised by OROTIG, and the parts which are selected
for purchase, are subject to rigorous checks in order to assure the
maximum performance of the complete product.
The development of the software and the complete cabling is done by
technicians of OROTIG, who proceed step by step with the careful
inspection of the most delicate phases.
An overall final inspection permits the highest level of
reliability, which is completed by the final calibrations. |
